Levels and techniques of evaluation in educational technology

Title: Improving teaching and learning in e-learning environments
Author:  Dr Sue Trinidad

Level:
The study "Improving teaching and learning in e-learning environments" used Project Level to evaluate E-learning environment because it doesn't focus in specific curriculum or course but it looks at E-learning environment in general.

Techniques:
There are two techniques were used in this study; these are:
1.     Questionnaire: which appear in Online Learning Environment Survey (OLES) where students are asked to rate the 'actual' learning environment experienced in a module (subject) with their 'preferred' learning environment using a five point rating (Almost Never, Seldom, Sometimes, Often, Almost Always) for actual and preferred items.
2.     Observation: to what happen in class room. The author observes students behavior and participation in two online lectures.

Stage:
The evaluation was in isolation because the researcher didn't care about evaluate E-learning environment within specific course such as English language course or science course but he looks to E-learning environment from boarder view as it appear in study when he discuss computer usage, teacher support, authentic learning ,… in general without link these things with specific course.
